Ada Developers Academy Admissions Process
Ada Developers Academy encourages women, nonbinary individuals, and transgender indiviuals who are age 21 or older to apply. Students must have permanent work authorization in the United States and be able to attend the program full time. Ada Developers Academy recommends that prospective students complete its bootcamp prep program called "Ada Build" before applying.
Ada looks for candidates who have a passion for software development and an aptitude for learning. The organization wants applicants who care about diversity, social justice, and inclusion, as well as candidates who get along well with others and maintain their composure when under stress.
To start the application process, candidates must submit a resume and answer a few short essay questions. Applicants must then answer questions about a large dataset and complete a coding challenge. Students who do well on the challenge go on to participate in a technical interview. A final interview follows the technical interview.
Ada Developers Academy Payment Options
Although Ada Developers Academy does not charge tuition, some students may need help with living expenses in order to participate in the program. Ada has partnered with Craft3 to help these students.
Craft3 offers loans of up to $14,700 to aid students with their living expenses during the program. The loans have a five-year repayment term and an interest rate of 4.5%. Students do not start repaying their loans until after completing the program and internship.
During the five-month internship period, students work at their placement company for 35 hours a week and receive a monthly stipend equal to $16 per hour.
