Lambda School Admissions Process

Lambda School looks for students who are determined, proactive, career-focused, and team players. Learners should make sure they meet the requirements listed on the admissions page of the website before applying.

Before starting an application, prospective students must create an account on the Lambda School website. Once they have created an account, applicants are redirected to the Lambda School Admissions Dashboard to start the admissions process, which begins with filling out an application.

Lambda School encourages beginners to apply. Accepted students receive an email with instructions for accessing the precourse work or entrance test; web development applicants do not need to complete a skills challenge, but data science applicants do. Data science applicants need to get 11 of the 15 questions correct in order to continue the application process.

The final step in the admissions process involves choosing your start date and signing the enrollment agreement, as well as choosing your payment method.

Lambda School Payment Options

Lambda School offers four payment options: upfront payment, tuition installments, a California retail installment contract, and an income share agreement (ISA). The upfront tuition ranges from $15,000-$30,000, depending on the state you live in. Students on the tuition installment plan make their tuition payments in three installments.

Lambda School's ISA allows students to start the bootcamp with no money down, and then pay 17% of their salary for two years after they finish the bootcamp and find a job. This ISA includes a payment cap of $30,000, and ISA payments do not start until the student finds a job making at least $50,000 per year in an in-field position.

Students who withdraw from the bootcamp before completing it may owe a partial or full amount of the ISA, depending on how much of the bootcamp they completed. Applicants should read the fine print carefully before signing an ISA. To learn more about these agreements and how to evaluate if this payment option is right for you, read our guide to ISAs.

Lambda School's California retail installment contract has mostly the same terms as the income share agreement, except that under this contract, students must pay the full $30,000. Due to state regulations, California students are not eligible for the ISA.
