V School Courses

V School's programs use a "responsive learning" model to train students in web development and UX/UI design. Online courses focus on developing tech training, completing projects for portfolios, and getting apprenticeships or internships.

Courses offer independent learning opportunities with asynchronous work. However, the bootcamp also features personalized attention through one-on-one mentorship, team projects, and guest speaking engagements with industry leaders. Although courses are intended to last 12 weeks, students do not have a set timeframe to finish their entire bootcamp. Instead, they advance in their selected program by mastering technical skills. Mentors tailor school schedules to meet a student's needs, lifestyle, and background.

The three-step training process at V School prepares students for tech careers through skill training, work experience, and career training. Students typically focus on skills training for 3-4 months and then complete 1-6 months of work experience. V School's career training support lasts indefinitely, with students able to reach out anytime after graduation. Beginners in tech can take the free introduction to tech course and join the program's Slack channel to talk with other students.

V School Student Outcomes

The Council on Integrity in Results Reporting (CIRR) works to hold bootcamps accountable by independently verifying the student outcome data of its members. This process can help give students peace of mind and provide information about which bootcamps successfully prepare graduates for the workforce.

Bootcamps that do not hold CIRR membership, such as V School, may still self-report data, such as graduation rates, job placement rates, and average salaries. However, bootcamp candidates should bear in mind that these numbers have not been independently verified. Students can vet bootcamps by speaking with admissions counselors and alumni.
