The software engineering bootcamp at Fullstack Academy consists of three phases: a foundations phase, a junior phase, and a senior phase. Both full-time and part-time students complete the foundations portion of the course online over a four-week period, working on a part-time basis.

After finishing the foundations portion of the program, full-time students spend 13 weeks in the junior and senior phases, studying front-end development, back-end development, and databases. During the senior phase, students complete a team project, a personal project, and a capstone project. Part-time students take 15 weeks to complete the junior phase and nine weeks to complete the senior phase.

Fullstack Academy Admissions Process

Fullstack Academy looks for students with knowledge of programming fundamentals who are motivated learners and team players. Students must have some programming experience. Fullstack evaluates candidates based on their culture fit, educational and professional background, and programming skills.

Fullstack Academy has a three-step application process. Candidates first submit an application and then take an online coding assessment. Following the assessment, students must undergo an interview process with both technical and behavioral interviews.

Fullstack Academy Payment Options

Fullstack Academy and the Grace Hopper Program offer multiple payment options for students, as outlined below.

GI Bill®

Fullstack Academy offers veterans with GI Bill benefits the chance to participate in the VET TEC program, which covers tuition for eligible coding bootcamps.

Income Share Agreement

Fullstack Academy partners with Leif for its income share agreement. Students must make a $2,000 down payment upon enrollment, but they can wait until 28 days after their first day of work to start making payments.

Under the income share agreement, graduates must pay 12% of their income for a period of 48 months or until they reach the payment cap. Students only begin to pay once they secure a job with an annual salary of at least $40,000 (for software engineering graduates) or $35,000 (for cybersecurity graduates).

Loans

Fullstack Academy also offers loans through Skills Fund and Climb. Loan options include deferred repayment loans, interest-only loans, and immediate loans. Payments start at $336 per month.

Scholarships

Veterans who pay upfront can qualify for a $1,000 scholarship, and the Ada Lovelace Scholarship provides $1,000 scholarships to women and gender nonconforming students who opt to pay upfront. LGBTQ+ and gender nonconforming students can also apply for the Edie Windsor Coding Scholarship, which covers half of a recipient's bootcamp tuition.
