  • Chick-fil-A team members received scholarships through the Remarkable Futures initiative.
  • Most recipients received $1,000 and $2,500 scholarships under the initiative this year.
  • The fast food restaurant chain has invested $136 million in scholarships funds since 1970.

Chick-fil-A is continuing its long-established commitment to invest in higher education by awarding $24 million in college scholarships to its restaurant team members this year.

This year's 12,699 recipients of the company's annual Remarkable Futures Scholarships can use their earned funds at any accredited institution for any area of study. This includes two- or four-year colleges or universities, online programs, or vocational-technical schools.

The fast food restaurant chain offers two types of scholarships under the Remarkable Futures initiative: a $25,000 True Inspiration scholarship and Leadership scholarships for $1,000 and $2,500. This year, 12 team members received the True Inspiration scholarship, while the remainder of recipients were awarded Leadership scholarships.

The scholarships are awarded to recipients up front and can be directly applied to tuition and other academic costs without requiring reimbursement.

There are no length of service or hours requirements for team members to qualify for scholarship funds. All part- or full-time team members employed at any franchised, company-owned and/or affiliated restaurant are eligible.

Chick-fil-A was able to expand its scholarship program this year and offer more funds due to increased sales of its bottled sauce found in retail stores, according to the company. One hundred percent of royalties from the product go to the company's scholarship initiative. And since 2020, retail sales have contributed more than $6.4 million to those funds.

Each year, Chick-fil-A team members across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico can apply for college scholarships under the Remarkable Futures initiative. Since 1970, the company has awarded more than $136 million in scholarship funds to over 80,000 team members.

In addition to these scholarships, Chick-fil-A offers tuition discounts at a network of schools through its partnership with Scholarship America. All team members have access to discounts, grants, and benefits offered at schools under the Tuition Reduction Network.

Chick-fil-A is just one of dozens of employers that offers its U.S.-based employees full or partial tuition assistance, discounts, and more. Check out BestColleges' growing list of companies offering these higher education perks here:
