Can You Take the TOEFL Test Online?

Yes. There are two types of TOEFL exams: the iBT version (online) and the PBT version (paper). ETS, the company that administers the TOEFL, reports that 96% of test-takers now take the iBT version of the test. Most universities also prefer iBT results. You can register for the TOEFL iBT exam on ETS's website.

The TOEFL usually takes about three hours to complete and consists of four sections: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. ETS states that the check-in process can take an additional 30 minutes.
