Cornell offers comprehensive LGBTQ+ support networks through its LGBT Resource Center, which has been in service for more than 30 years. The center works alongside campus partners to support students and foster an inclusive community with programs, workshops, and events.

The LGBTQ Resource Center, one of the first of its kind at a Catholic institution, fosters dialogue, advocacy, and a sense of belonging across campus by facilitating connections and creating networks between current students, student organizations, staff and faculty (through their LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group), and the Hoyas With Pride alum affinity group.

Oberlin College is renowned locally for social inclusion and LGBTQ+ advocacy, dating back to the founding of its first gay organization in 1971 and to hosting the first Trans Awareness Week in the country in 1998. 

The Office of Gender, Sexuality, & Attraction Initiatives (GSAI) offers extensive support for queer and transgender students through campus programs, policies, and student organizations. Due to Ohio’s restrictive “Bathroom Bill,” prohibiting transgender students from using restroom facilities that align with their gender identities, Oberlin has to mark multi-occupancy restrooms as men’s or women’s. However, the school has over 40 single-occupancy restrooms for all genders.
