As managing editor of BestColleges News, Alex Pasquariello leads a distributed, eight-journalist newsroom reporting on the critical issues that students pursuing college degrees, professional certificates, and career training need to jumpstart their educational journey.
Alex has been covering higher education since 2018. Prior to the September 2021 launch of BestColleges News, Alex led Metropolitan State University of Denver RED, a digital brand journalism initiative reporting on the open-access institution’s impact on Colorado’s economic, scientific, and cultural sectors.
Alex’s journalism career spans glossy national magazines, buzzy app startups, and viral podcasts. He has previously built and managed news teams covering everything from Olympic skiing to luxury travel to legal cannabis, and his reporting has been published in The Denver Post, AFAR, Condé Nast Traveler, Bloomberg Businessweek, Travel + Leisure, Fast Company, High Country News, The Points Guy, Vail Resorts EpicLife, and other local and national titles.
Alex holds a BS in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
