Rebecca Long is a copy editor currently supporting BestColleges’ reporting on higher education trends and data analysis. She also manages the site’s Conscious Language Guide. She joined BestColleges in 2021.
In addition to her work at BestColleges, Rebecca has over a decade of editorial experience, including writing and editing. As a freelance journalist, her work has been published in The Boston Globe, The Guardian, Slate, Teen Vogue, and others. She has also served as a guest lecturer in copy editing at Wheaton College. She has previously held full-time roles in academic publishing and the educational nonprofit sector.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Allegheny College and a certificate in copy editing from Emerson College.
