Turn Your Dreams Into Reality

Take our quiz and we'll do the homework for you! Compare your school matches and apply to your top choice today.

On my way to school one morning, I was listening to a podcast about a new EdTech tool I'd never tried before. The show's host interviewed a teacher who'd used the tool with her students and found it helped with engagement. When I got to school, I immediately created an account for this tool. Since then, I've been using it with my students — all thanks to a podcast.

Podcasts are an effective and fun way to learn new things about teaching. They're easy to listen to on the go, and there are so many to choose from. Here are my picks for the best podcasts for teachers — and education and teaching majors — to start listening to today.

1. Easy EdTech Podcast

Hosted by Monica Burns, this podcast for teachers provides clear and practical advice for both new and seasoned instructors around implementing EdTech in the classroom. Burns' approach provides many examples and tangible strategies you can use in your next lesson plan.

2. The 10-Minute Teacher Podcast

This is the first podcast I subscribed to, and I keep returning to it for inspiration and ideas to share with my students. Host Vicki Davis covers everything from augmented reality to escape rooms and other innovative techniques to try in the classroom.

I especially enjoy the guest interviews in which actual teachers share their ideas and strategies.

3. Beginning Teacher Talk

Although this podcast hosted by Dr. Lori Friesen has "beginning teacher" in the title, all teachers can benefit from tuning in. In this podcast for teachers, Dr. Friesen offers useful advice on typical first-year teacher struggles.

Topics include classroom management, working with parents, and developing creative techniques to use in the classroom.

4. The Burned-In Teacher Podcast

Amber Harper turns teacher burnout on its head through her podcast for teachers. In this series, Harper shares strategies with teachers on the verge of burnout, supports them through their burnout, and encourages them to grow through this experience.

5. EduMagic: Future Teacher Podcast

Shameless plug alert! I host the EduMagic podcast, which provides strategies for aspiring educators from kindergarten through college. My approach gives future teachers the confidence to try new things in their field placements, classrooms, and student teaching experiences, combining theory and practice.

6. This Teacher Life

This podcast for teachers is hosted by one of my favorite Instagram teachers, Monica Genta. Genta's approach to teaching and learning is not only practical but fun for educators and students. She offers a wealth of inspiring ideas that teachers can put into practice right away.
